2017 Finalist - Reducing delays in antibiotic delivery in neutropenic sepsis

Gwobrau GIG Cymru 2017

Neutropenic sepsis is a common complication of intensive treatment and accounts for 2-21% of deaths in cancer patients. Teenagers and young adults (TYA) are more likely to have neutropenic septic deaths than other age groups. National policy advocates empiric antibiotics administration within one hour, which forms one part of the Surviving Sepsis Campaign Sepsis 6.
